"The Little Lord Barry Lay Down His Sweet Head"
"Sick, disgusting and yet revealing, Hillary Clinton is staying in the race in the event some nut kills Barack Obama." Michael Goodwin, (a columnist), The New York Daily News May 24, 2008
"Hillary should only not drop out of the race. She should resign from the Senate. Then she should be arrested, tried, convicted, and sent to a maximum security prison for life for advocating the assassination of a presidential candidate."

Now that the season is over with I thought I'd compose my first diary to let the Obama devotees on this board know exactly what I thought of them, their candidate, and his Clinton-hating supporters. With some of them Clinton-hating is practically a full time job. I fully realize that I will get kicked out of MYDD because of it but what difference does it make now anyway? The truth is hard to swallow:
Subgroup #1:
Your "We Shall Overcome" crowd. Black people have been waiting for Sidney Poitier to be the Oval Office ever since Guess Who's Coming To Dinner or was it Lillies of the Field? Let me see, when 92% of one ethnic group votes for the one candidate of the same ethnic group and that's somehow acceptable; but when only 21% of those voting in Kentucky said "race mattered" and most of them voted for Clinton, our friend Chris Matthews blows a gasket because we haven't come very far? Ah, I get it. Now you take the people who think Denzel should win every Oscar with the Whole Foods, latte-sucking, white wine and brie cheese, white liberals who have had the same wet dream for ages, well then you've got quite a powerful force within the Democratic Party. By the by, none of the latter would be caught dead sending their kids to a public high school in Newark or Camdem or Hartford, but by voting Obama they get to ease their guilty suburban consciences. Ah, it feels so good, doesn't it?
Subgroup#2:
Your pimple-faced college dorm crowd who think it's cool to be for Obama, he's AWESOME. This bunch also voted for Anderson in 1980 because it was cool, for Perot in 1992 because it was cool, Bradley in 2000, Hart in '84 (new ideas) and of course Nader. And as an added bonus your I.Q. goes up 20 points by supporting BO, or didn't you know that? I swear to Christ at least 30% of this group can't name the state he's from. It's like a Jay Leno walking tour.
Subgroup#3:
Your Amalgamated Society of Clinton Haters (Chris Matthews First Vice President and Founder of Philadelphia Local 622) These are the revolting collection of backstabbers, Judas Iscariots, former Democratic Party hasbeens or almost hasbeens who are pathological in their hatred, spite, and plain old fashioned jealousy of the Clintons because Bill was a successful two term Democratic president and they WEREN'T. This bunch is the most sickening of them all and includes the aforementioned star of Hardball (is he the one who put Carter in the cardigan sweater in front of the fireplace?), John Kerry and Mrs. Munster, those bloodsucking Kennedys, (including Frau Schwarzenegger wife of Herr Schwarzenegger, who was cheering for her Bush-loving husband at Madison Square Garden as he was denouncing Democrats), Tip O'Neill protogee Tim Russert, Shrum, Clifford Alexander, Ben Jones, that crosseyed freak of nature Pat Caddell, Ted Sorensen, Gary Hart, Bradley, Lawrence O'Donnell, that refugee from the Wizard of Oz Robert Reich, Richardson, and of course "Mr. Hammer and nails in my hand when the camera's around" James Earl "I'm a nuclear physicist" Carter. BO has functioned for them as a great depository of their Clinton hating and revenge. Now they can get even.
Subgroup#4:
This crowd is the most bedeviling to explain and Joe Klein recently brought it up at a symposium in New York, so at least there's someone else it's occurred to but, what do, as Mark Walburg called them in The Departed, the "lace curtain" Irish Catholics have against the Clintons? Now, I'm Catholic myself and Bill is of Irish decent but again what exactly is the source of the major league bigger than a shamrock bug up their ass about the Clintons? You've got your Bob Casey, O'Donnell, Matthews, Flavia Colgan, Norah O'Donnell, Mark Shields, Patrick Murphy, Chris Murphy, that Flora The Red Menace Maureen Dowd, Monica Crowley, Peggy Noonan, Andrew Sullivan, Jack Cafferty, Chris Dodd, and most of those delightful Kennedys. What are they angry about? Is it Monica, abortion. I suppose we'll never find out but I suspect it has something to do with Kennedy worship from their younger days.
Subgroup#5
This category (I said there was overlap) is reserved for honest people who have a legitimate beef against the Clinton for NAFTA,
the DLC business, Iraq, the death penalty etc. Hillary is just not left wing enough for their tastes. This ignores two things: 1) that all recent Democrats who won (there were only two but Gore won the popular vote) have won from the center in this moderate country and 2) Hillary Clinton has been considered by the right as practically Karl Marx's daughter for decades. They think Obama is a real socialist or something. I got news for ya. He's not. Obama cloaks himself in moderate speak to try to gull the public. If he were a true leftist he would have no problem saying he was a liberal or even a progressive. That's why he speaks in stupidities and commonplaces like "change we can believe in". Now who would be scared of that? That's why the idiots on TV like Axrelrod say things like "he's inspiring". They really think he's some sort of Francois Villon who's going to lead us to the socialist revoluion, but if he's elected he'll become a squishy moderate like everybody else. So the joke will be on the Kos/MSNBC crowd in the end. The Obama lovers hate Hillary Clinton for one reason and one reason only-she's in the way.
Okay, I realize again that this will be the beginning and the end for me at this site. But it's a great big world out there and I guess I'll find something else to do-like badmouth Obama whenever I can.
